Sea Kayak Lake Superior’s Pukaskwa Coast

The most isolated coastline on the Great Lakes stretches for 180 roadless kilometres from Marathon to Wawa. On this 10-day guided trip you will experience the best of Lake Superior–rugged cliffs and headlands, sweeping sand beaches and thundering waterfalls. This coastline features a vibrant human history including aboriginal pictographs, “Pukaskwa Pits,” lighthouses and abandoned fishing outposts. What’s more, it’s also home to a small population of woodland caribou and unique arctic vegetation. Offered in conjunction with Caribou Expeditions. Participants are responsible for supplying their own sea kayak, equipment and meals.

August 1-11, 2010, $1,575
